 I tried the chiropractor, I tried stretches and calisthenics. I tried massage therapy and little rubber balls of various sizes to massage the tissue with, anything I could think of to loosen the joint and release the built up pressure. Nothing. I can now lift my hand all the way straight up without resistance or pain. I've been at this literally 18 months and Somatics has been the only thing that helps.

1-1 Somatic Fitness

On this journey, you will discover many of the movement patterns that have been making movement and fitness so unatainable for you.

We will use methods to help your subconscious shift those patterns for good and help your body organize itself better. Your relationship to your body, exercise, and the world around you will alter.

Small Group Somatic Movement or Fitness

On your journey of healing and self discovery, you might find that you do better in the energy of community.

Small Groups are 3-5 people who meet weekly at the same time in the same place (online or in person) to explore topics of the body and life, and then move together.

Sometimes there is journaling and “homework.” Reach out to find out about Group availability or to start your own Small Group!

I only offer drop-ins once per Group.

ABOUT ME

A Deeper Dive into Mindful Somatic Fitness

Hi! I’m Kira.

I have been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2007 with a specialization in Functional Fitness, Standing Pilates and various group fitness modalities, including Body Sculpt, Cycling, and Cardio Kickboxing. I have been a Clinical Essential Somatic Movement Teacher since 2018. I am trauma informed, HAES aligned, and oodles of fun. 

You may have heard about Somatic Movement and Fitness recently. I’d love to tell you more about how and why it works.

4 months ago I was tolerating pain. I'd stopped jogging almost a year ago because my knees had begun to hurt during running and climbing stairs.

I attributed to bad knee genetics and avoided both activities. Then my left shoulder started hurting in way that was harder to ignore.

Chiropractic was helping bandaid the problem temporarily but not solving it.

I'd been thinking of physical therapy when I connected with Kira of Comfy Fitness. 

The initial assessment blew my mind. Even over video, Kira was able to pinpoint the actual issues causing my pain and discomfort.

I signed up and now consider it one of the best decisions I've made to support my physical comfort and confidence.

The program was very personal and clearly designed to help me progressively grow. Though the exercises definitely challenged me, the Comfy Fitness approach was so supportive that I found myself looking forward to my sessions. 

My pain progressively diminished and fully went away after about 6 weeks. I now feel stronger and more comfortable in my body than ever before. Not to mention, I love that my husband has also definitely noticed and appreciated the difference. Thank you Kira and Comfy Fitness! (from both of us!)

If you already know you’d like a deeper dive into the movement mechanics and habits of your body, feel free to book a 90 minute intake.

The intake will include a thorough review of your life history, a movement screening, and at least one movement or somatic practice specifically thought of based on your screening that you can start using that day.

This Clinical Somatic Movement class is designed to ease the tension and strain that winter can bring. You'll gently release stiffness caused by bracing against the cold, improve your balance and coordination for navigating icy sidewalks, and restore muscles overworked by snow shoveling. Through mindful, flowing movements, you'll leave feeling warm, grounded, and ready to embrace the season with ease.

Restore Your Core

"Restore Your Core" is a transformative Clinical Somatic Movement class that helps you reconnect with the foundation of your movement—your core. By deepening your awareness, you'll learn to feel and engage your core naturally, improving your breathing, enhancing your posture, and alleviating pain. This class shifts the focus from endless strengthening to truly understanding and accessing the power within.

Walk with Ease: Unlock Your Natural Stride

Do you experience pain or discomfort when you walk? Does walking feel more like a chore than a natural, effortless movement? In this beginner-friendly somatic movement class, you’ll learn how to release tension patterns that may be limiting your stride and causing unnecessary strain on your back, hips, knees, or feet.

Through gentle, guided movements, we’ll explore how your body is designed to walk with ease—and how small shifts in awareness can lead to big changes in comfort and mobility. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of your movement patterns and simple, effective ways to make walking feel smoother, lighter, and more enjoyable.
